WHITE OAK WORSHIP CENTER MINISTRIES
There is a place for you here.
Church isn’t just another box to check off on your to-do list. It’s a place of life, renewal and hope – restoring the world. In authentic church community, there is true friendship, grace, life-long learning and making a difference. At White Oak, we are an authentic, difference-making community. In addition, you’ll be given practical knowledge of the Word and specific steps for growth to help you on your journey with God.

Our ministries provide something for everyone. At any and every stage of life there is a place to connect in community with one another, grow together in faith and serve each other in love. Whether you’re new or have been attending our services for years, we challenge you to get involved and experience life together.

We provide a safe, fun and nurturing Christian environment for infants and toddlers ages birth to 3 years. We offer this service for church members, visitors and the Blairs community during the time that parents and guardians attend worship and other church-sponsored programs or events.

Each adult caregiver serving in our nursery ministry must first submit an application and receive a thorough background check through a national screening service before being allowed to serve. Caregivers will safely engage and interact with your child during their time in the nursery.

White Oak Worship Kids In Divine Service (WOW KIDS) is a ministry for ages 3 – 10. They meet during the 11 a.m. service on Sundays. The younger children have their own class. The kids  have praise and worship, a message, and age-appropriate activities.  .

Each “Fifth” Sunday  is Family Sunday. On these Sundays, the children will enjoy worship with their families in the main sanctuary.

Our WOW Kids teaching staff is comprised of caring people, many of whom have been working with children for years. We welcome all children to participate.

Our student ministries consist of both JV youth (grades 6th-8th) and youth (9th-12th grades). These grade levels follow the school calendar and students are promoted in the fall. WOWC Youth Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. each Sunday morning. Youth Pastor Daniel Irving teaches the Bible, bringing to light truths and stories which are applicable to everyday life. Dramas, concerts, youth revivals, and other special activities are planned throughout the year. Royal Rangers and SWAG Girls’ Ministry have classes which meet on Wednesday nights. For those not involved in Royal Rangers or SWAG, Pastor Daniel has a discipleship class on Wednesday nights at 7:15.

For more information about WOWC Youth Ministries or if you are interested in volunteering to assist with this ministry, e-mail Pastor Daniel by clicking HERE.

If you are a young adult, then White Oak wants you to know how important you are. This is a strategic time in your life. A time to grow closer to God and allow him to direct you to whatver He has planned. We want to invite you to be a part of all of our classes and activities.

We meet on Sunday Mornings at 10:00 AM in the Room 206.  We also have activities geared toward this age group at other times.

Come and join us for coffee and more…every second Saturday from 9 until 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Be a part of an exciting and growing ministry to men. Jesus sent out his men “2×2”, so TEAM-UP! Special events such as a “Saturday at the Lake” is something you won’t want to miss! (No mowing the lawn…no yard work…what could be better, guys?). C. R. Yates heads up this ministry.

WOMEN OF WORTH WOMEN’S MINISTRY is our ministry to women of all ages and walks of life! Connie Walton is the director of this ministry and has a desire to see the women of White Oak Worship Center grow in their relationships with the Lord and one another. We try to have monthly gatherings to encourage fellowship. Check the church calendar for specific events.

MOM TIME is an outreach offered to moms as a way to connect with other moms sharing this same season of life. They meet on the 4th Friday of each month from 9:30 -11:30 am. Mom Time recognizes the value of creating relationships and mentoring younger moms. This group also schedules off-campus gatherings and hosts an annual retreat. Come join us as we meet together for a time of relaxation, laughter and a time to just get away with the “girls!” Jennifer Armstrong is the director of MomTime.
The GEMS Senior Ministry (God’s Effective Matured Saints) is for those who are 55 and over. Artise and Sherba McLean work hard to come up special events that are both fun and inspirational.

Our purpose is to encourage fellow seniors in their devotional lives and in the use of their natural and spiritual gifts to further the work of Jesus Christ.  It is our goal that through this ministry we will encourage senior citizens to use their gifts and talents for the Lord, and in turn enhance our service to the church and community.

The GEMS meet for activities each month. These activities include fellowship, dinners, trips and fundraisers. We have all of our planned activities listed on our website calendar. We encourage you to get involved! Invite someone to come with you and enjoy a time of uplifting fellowship and fun!
Authentic Christian relationships take place in circles, not rows.

We believe God created us to live in community with others and only then can we experience the life he intends for us. Our small groups meet at various times and in various locations and are centered around common interests and Biblical discussion.

Psalm 150:1-6  “Praise the Lord!  Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty firmament!  Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him for His surpassing greatness!  Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!  Praise Him with the tambourine and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.  Praise Him with the clanging cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!  Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord.  Praise ye the Lord!
It is our desire to praise and worship our Savior, Jesus Christ through song, music and dance.
It is the way that we express our love and gratitude toward our Lord! Many scriptures support the praise and worship of the Lord.

This scripture and many others clearly indicate that we should praise and worship the Lord with music, instruments and dance. These are all biblical expressions of worship.

Every Sunday morning, we have two worship services:

Our traditional service starts at 8:30 a.m. In the traditional service, we worship the Lord with the time-honored hymns of the faith and some classic praise and worship selections.

Our contemporary service starts at 11 a.m. In our contemporary service, we worship the Lord with current and up-to-date musical selections. In our 11 a.m. service we also have a choir and full band which ministers in song each Sunday.

Join us every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Sunday school. It is our desire to give each person the Biblical foundation needed to become mature Christians who love God and walk in victory!  Our Sunday school department director is Gale Durham. She is assisted by Mark & Donna Rippert.
